Geek poll: what do you have open?

May 21st, 2008

I love a good internet meme. So how could I resist playing along? I have only one instance of each of the following:

Evolution groupware suite

Liferea rss feed reader with over 100 feeds being updated regularly

Firefox, with five tabs

OpenOffice Writer

Conky, with custom settings that I like to play with

Tilda, a terminal that I have running on my desktop at all times, with transparant settings so it looks like part of my desktop wallpaper until I click on it and start typing.

I would like to see what that wallpaper looks like with your terminal embedded. I have been wanting to do this for a while but have not found a good wallpaper to make it work and look nice.

Ciego: your wish is my command. :) Click for larger.

*removed until I get time to sit down and edit the pics to remove personal data*

I created my own background image with a specific spot for the terminal in this shot. My backgrounds and themes change often, so if you look at the link below you can see some more examples.

I can see you MAC address matthew,haXXing possibilities are endless.
Oh and your public IP so now I can stalk you(even if IAM has dynamic IPs and I don’t have access to their logs)so now I can stalk you

nabil: doh! I know better than that. I forgot to clean the screenshots.

Fortunately, IAM does use dynamic IPs, and this is the MAC address for my laptop, which is only online when I am actually using it and would/could detect any attempts. Still…I have removed the images until I get around to cleaning them and uploading new ones.

Thanks…I didn’t even think to look, and usually I’m very good about stuff like that.

Okay, I cleaned up the images. Here is a repost of a safer version.

Like last time, there are more here.
