Since the last post was more of a test, we can consider this my first official post on this blog. For those who don’t already know who I am, my name is Matthew Helmke. I am one of the members of the Forum Council and an admin in the Ubuntu Forums. Yeah, that’s me there, in disguise as a bubble haired space alien. I am forums user number 17,635. When you consider that our most recent user is user number 395,320, I guess you can say I’ve been around the community a little while. I like guitars, languages, travel, humor, friends and family…not necessarily in that order. I’ll probably write about most of those topics at some time or another.
Well, welcome to the new blog. I added this one to the planet feed, so greetings to everyone reading this and wondering, “Hey, who’s that new guy?” See you around.

So you’re THAT Matthew. I’ve seen you in the forums a lot (I’m m.musashi there). I’ve not been to active there lately. I’ve been doing my time in Launchpad and completing my own membership. Welcome to the other side.
