I don't believe one can exist without the other (unfortunately.) Without knowledge the mechanisms that create and expand capitol would be untenable. Without capitol the tenants of knowledge would decay and become scarce. The vitality that is created by the input of capitol or knowledge into either mechanism is often the advancing push that is needed to move forward I think. I think neither.
